Hi and welcome

I would like to share with you some of the experience and knowledge I have gained through performing and studying at the drum set for four decades.

Performing:.

I have played and recorded professionally in the following styles:     Rock      Funk     Jazz     Latin – American     Stage Bands

This has included working with overseas artists and playing at international jazz festivals.   I have also given numerous drum clincs throughout New Zealand.

 

Overseas Study:

I have studied in New Zealand and also the United States with several world famous  teachers, including: Jim Chapin , John Riley, Ed Soph and at Drummer’s Collective in New York City.

Twenty–five years of  teaching at Auckland Secondary Schools and privately.    My  teaching  program covers all  the styles  listed opposite as well as Reading drum music,  practicing  the Standard Rudiments and the Moeller Method to develop sound drum technique.   This in turn results in greater control, speed, accuracy and endurance. I have also produced two instructional DVDs. (refer "Lessons" section).
